E.ON UK - We test you rest

E.ON UK has worked in partnership with Age Concern for eight years to deliver a series of electric blanket testing sessions for the elderly. All of the tests are carried out free of charge - with a free repair or replacement policy for all those that fail.

E.ON's investment:

£162,000 in 2005; £188,000 in 2006

Project Achievements:

Over 30,000 blankets have been tested and over 21,000 of these have been replaced. In addition, each year 5,000 house fires are caused by electric blankets, educating people on the dangers of using old or worn blankets contributes to preventing death and injury.
